It’s now mid-way through the summer, and you may be running into a few common annoyances while RVing. Like a sway as you walk through your RV, forgetting to close your roof vents during a storm, or mud-covered leveling blocks. We’re sharing some great accessories that you’ll find at your local RV Care dealer, to solve some common RVing woes!
Solution: RV Traveler’s Choice Roof Vent Cover. Never worry about an open roof vent again; these vent covers will keep rain out while ensuring constant ventilation. This allows you to keep the vents open even when not in use, preventing the build-up of stale, musty air. They will also protect your vents from hail damage and high winds. We love that the RV Traveler’s Choice Roof Vent Cover is easy to install, attaching to the base of the vent, so there is no need to drill through your roof membrane.
Problem: You’ve been camping in wet weather, and find your jacks keep sinking into the mud.
Solution: Jack Pad. Placed under your scissor jacks or landing gear, a jack pad will prevent them from sinking into soft ground. They’re also easy to wash and stow away.
Problem: You’ve leveled your RV, but there’s still a sway as you walk around.
Solution: Locking Wheel Chocks. Designed for towables with multiple axles, the steel locking device fits between the wheels, expanding to put pressure on each tire and eliminate movement.
Solution: Plastic leveling blocks, or as we like to call them, Lego for adults! The interlocking blocks stack to the desired height, and then you simply drive up on them. The great thing about these blocks is that no matter how much mud you encounter, they can be hosed down, dried, and packed away completely clean. We recommend the RV Traveler’s Choice Leveling Blocks, they come in a set of 10 with a great travel bag.
Solution: RV Traveler’s Choice Electric A-Frame Jack. Swap out your manual jack for an electric version and give your arms a break! With a maximum lift capacity of 3,500 lb, they are suitable for most trailers. Choose from black or white to match your RV, and enjoy the easy installation.
Problem: You want to spend time boondocking, but can’t be away from a power source for long enough.
Solution: Enjoy RVing away from hookups by using solar panels, either mounted on your roof, or as a portable version. When upgrading to solar, don’t forget to ensure that your battery bank is adequate. Check with your local RV Care dealer for their expert advice.
Problem: Your dogs and kids are tracking dirt into the RV.
Solution: RV Patio Mat. Available in many colours and sizes, an outdoor mat will reduce the amount of dirt making it inside, and create a comfortable space to relax and entertain.
