Celebrating Father’s Day at the Campsite

Father's Day

This Father’s Day, celebrate in a place that brings families together: the campsite. Plan a day of family fun that involves all of your Dad’s favourite camping activities! From gifts to games to a delicious BBQ dinner, we’re sharing our ideas for a memorable Father’s Day at the campsite.

Lavish him with camping-themed gifts

Dads can be hard to buy for, but any camper is sure to appreciate a gear upgrade. Does he like to cook? Put together a gift of grill tools, BBQ spice rubs, and a new apron. Is he the one in charge of setting up camp? Gift him some tools that make setting up easier, like the RV Traveler’s Choice leveling blocks or electric jack. Whatever you’re looking for, you’re sure to find the perfect gift at your local RV Care dealer.

Schedule your Dad’s favourite activities

Sometimes, an afternoon spent sharing a favourite hobby with your family is the perfect gift! Plan an afternoon fishing trip, hike, biking or birdwatching. Have a tech-savvy Dad who loves to treasure hunt? Try out geocaching, where you hunt for hidden objects using GPS.

 Play a few games

Back at the campsite, pull out your dad’s favourite board game and gather around the picnic table for a few rounds. Other favourites are charades and card games, or if you have a big enough group, capture the flag.

Relax for happy hour

While you prepare to grill up a delicious dinner, start with some appetizers and drinks. If you prepare the lemon shallot butter in advance, you’ll be able to whip up these easy grilled clams in no time. Mix your dad’s favourite cocktail and make sure he puts his feet up while you light the fire!

Serve up a BBQ dinner

From a simple but tasty sausage and peppers foil pack, to sweet chili-lime grilled chicken with a Mexican corn salad, or the always delicious, classic grilled steak, treat your dad to a BBQ feast. And don’t forget to finish with a great dessert, like this bourbon peach cobbler.
